DIY Iridescent Necklace
Have you heard of AB crystals? I learned about them recently and quickly fell in love! The AB stands for Aurora Borealis, which is so appropriate because these beads have a shimmery coating that will remind you of the stunning Northern Lights. The finish of these beads is perfect for making a statement necklace that will take any outfit to another level. I used them to make this DIY AB Crystal Iridescent Necklace, and I am so excited to share it with you! No one will know that this glamorous necklace only took about an hour to make and requires beginner-level skills. Keep scrolling for the tutorial!
Supplies needed to make your own iridescent necklace:
- 3 strands Venezia AB Crystal Teardrop Beads
- 1 strand Venezia AB Crystal 6 mm Beads
- Jewelry tool set
- 2? Head pins
- Chain lengths
- Jewelry wire or cord (thin enough to string the beads)
- Clasp
Step 1: In sets of one, two, and three, stack the teardrop beads on headpins. You’ll need the following amount of each set: One bead: 9, two beads: 16, three beads: 8.
Step 2: Trim the exposed wire to be about the length of one teardrop bead. Then, wrap the wire around the tip of the 3-in-1 tool to create a loop for threading.
Step 3: Repeat with each set.Step
Step 4: Attach cord or wire to one of the chain lengths. Then start beading! Follow this pattern: 6mm bead (spacer), one teardrop, spacer, two teardrop, spacer, three teardrop, spacer, two teardrop, spacer, one teardrop.
Step 5: Repeat the pattern until you have used all your teardrops, and finish with a spacer to make the necklace symmetrical.
Step 6: Attach the wire or cord to another chain length, tying it tight against the beads. Add a clasp to one end of the chain.
Look at this gorgeous necklace! The AB crystals reflect so beautifully!
